Let the beauty you love be what you do
"Let the beauty you love be what you do" is great poetry and professional guidance. As a personal north star, it has focused my work advancing research and policies that support well-being and positive social change. This also holds true when it comes to addressing our most complex collective challenges.
Building the capacity of superb organizations
Human rights, social justice, and thriving ecosystems are beautiful. I have more than 20 years executive management and consulting experience with a focus on education, strategic development, fundraising, and communications. Leading board, staff, and volunteer teams, I've helped raise more than $40 million for nonprofit and academic organizations.
Nurturing the well-being and performance of people inside them
The power of human connection and collaboration is beautiful. My work in coaching and executive training is grounded in research-based approaches to improving performance and well-being for individuals and organizations. As a mindfulness and well-being coach and trainer with Happify Health, the Penn Resiliency Project, and the Potential Project, I've worked with top-performing leadership teams around the world.
The teaching and application of research in positive psychology, neuroscience, and contemplative practices
Our human capacities for learning, teaching, and mentoring are beautiful. I’m a lifelong student, and have taught in undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Pennsylvania and University of New Mexico. I’ve worked with some of the world’s most inspiring researchers to design and deliver onsite and online courses, and to create interdisciplinary research collaboratives for the Penn Positive Psychology Center and the Penn Center for Neuroscience and Society.

Denise launched the Penn Positive Neuroscience Project and directed the Penn Center for Neuroscience & Society after receiving her Master of Applied Positive Psychology there. She also served on the Penn Resilience training team and led workshops on the science and experience of mindfulness meditation for professional and community groups. Her work with NGOs is dedicated to advancing research and policies with a positive social impact and that nurture resilience within individuals and systems.
